Working through a temp gig? Then you receive a gross hourly wage. That’s the amount before taxes and contributions are deducted. What you actually receive is your net wage.

Your gross hourly wage consists of:

  • Base gross hourly wage – the agreed wage for your worked hours (based on the collective labour agreement and legal rules).
  • Holiday pay (8%) – you legally build this up over your worked hours.
  • Any allowances – for example for evening, weekend, or public holiday work.

Because you work via temp work, payroll tax and social security contributions are automatically deducted. You receive a payslip for this.
