You may come across something new on our platform. Aside from freelance work you can now also find temp work gigs.

What does this look like?

In the app, it is clearly stated in the job description that it is a temp job.

What does this mean?

Temp work is different from freelancing, we understand that. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Here’s how it works: As a temporary worker, you are employed by YoungCapital. They handle your income tax, and you accrue employee rights, such as vacation days and social security contributions.
  • Here’s what you need to do: Respond to a job in the app, and you will be redirected to YoungCapital to create an account. This only takes a few minutes, and you can get started right away.
  • Keep your freedom: Just like freelancing, you decide which jobs you take on. You remain in control.

Note:

Working as a temp worker differs in several ways from freelancing, such as taxes, rights and responsibilities. Read more below:

Fixed hourly rate

As a freelancer, you can negotiate your rate. With temp work, the hourly wage is fixed and is visible in the job description.

Payment of Your Hours

As a temporary worker, you enter your hours via the -app, but the standard payment options for freelancing do not apply. You receive your worked temp hours once a month.

Cancellation by the client
The cancellation notice for temp jobs is different from that for freelance jobs. For temporary workers, there is a cancellation notice of 96 hours (4 days) before the start of the job. If you are cancelled within this period, you are entitled to payment.

Cancellation/absence notification by you as a temp worker
When a freelancer cancels a job within the cancellation period and does not arrange a replacement, the no-show policy applies. For temp work, this works differently. A temp worker can refuse a call without consequences if it occurs within 96 hours. In case of illness, you must notify the client and inform them. However, the no-show policy still applies to everyone on the platform.

No replacement by the temp worker

A freelancer arranges their own replacement when they are unavailable. As a temporary worker, you do not need to arrange a replacement, but you must report your absence to both the client and YoungCapital.

Agreement

As a freelancer, you work based on a model agreement between you and the client. In temporary employment, this follows a triangular relationship.

  • As a temporary worker, you have an employment contract with YoungCapital (employer).
  • At the same time, there is also an agreement between the client and YoungCapital.
