Why can’t I access the YoungOnes platform anymore?
Due to recent regulatory reviews and the need to comply with the guidelines set by the Dutch Labour Inspectorate, we are unable to allow freelancers who work based on a student visa to use the YoungOnes platform for finding gigs.
What should I do if I have ongoing gigs planned through YoungOnes?
Unfortunately, any gigs still within the cancellation period will be automatically canceled. If you have gigs beyond this period, please consider reaching out to your clients directly to discuss alternative arrangements for completing your gig.
Can I still work with clients outside of YoungOnes?
Yes, you can discuss continuing your freelance work with your clients independently or possibly transitioning into an employee role with them. We have informed clients about this change and encouraged them to consider direct collaborations if possible.
What will I lose by not using the YoungOnes platform?
Working outside of the YoungOnes platform means you will not have access to benefits such as insurance coverage for gigs, assistance in finding gigs, and support with managing administrative tasks and paperwork that our platform typically provides. Consider these factors carefully when negotiating your terms.

Are there any exceptions to this new rule?

International Students Outside EU/EEA/Switzerland: The primary group affected are students from countries outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland. This is due to legal reasons: student from within the EU/EEA/Switzerland do not need a student visa to work in the Netherlands.
