Do you have a student visa without a self-employment permit? According to Dutch law, you are not allowed to work as a freelancer (zzp'er) without one. This permit is required for non-EU/EEA/Swiss students who wish to work as self-employed individuals in the Netherlands.
Clients are not permitted to have you work for them as a freelancer without the correct permits. If you work without these permits regardless, it can be considered illegal labor, which can have consequences for both you and the client.
What does this mean for you?
You cannot perform gigs via YoungOnes.
You can work outside of YoungOnes, but without the correct permits, you are not insured and you are at risk.
What can you do?
Discuss with your employer whether you can work as an employee (in loondienst).
If you want to continue working as a freelancer, you can apply for a self-employment permit with the IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Service).
YoungOnes follows the regulations of the Netherlands Labour Authority (Arbeidsinspectie) and therefore can no longer offer you access to the platform. Working as a freelancer in the Netherlands is not permitted without the correct permits.
