"The first step is always the hardest...." This also applies to your first gig through YoungOnes. This is because you obviously haven't built up any ratings yet, making it harder for a client to get a good impression. Of course, we do have some tips for you, which will hopefully still allow you to pick up a gig quickly and land your first 5-star rating.
First of all, your profile is super important. Your profile is your business card, so make sure it looks great. Click here for tips on how to pimp your profile. In addition, I have some tips for you to get chosen faster:
- Always write a personal motivation with every application. Show that you are enthusiastic and explain why you are really suitable for this specific gig (keep your response short and to the point, a client receives many responses and does not have time to read long motivations).
- Respond to gigs with few reactions.
- Respond as much as possible, respond even if gigs are on the same day/time, as overlapping gigs will automatically be withdrawn if you are selected.
- Respond to multiple gigs at the same client; when they see that you are available for multiple days, this is often an advantage, as they will not need to explain everything again.
- Respond to last minute gigs.
- Take a look at the replacement gigs! In the app, you can adjust your filters to search specifically for replacement tasks. This way, fellow freelancers have the opportunity to choose you as the ideal substitute for their gig! You can also take a look at our YoungOnes Community op Discord.
