It can, of course, sometimes happen that either you or the client wants to cancel a job. In some cases, this may have consequences, but it doesn't have to! There are several different ways to cancel a job.
Before the cancellation deadline | Before the cancellation deadline, you and the client can cancel the job without any obligations. The client chooses a cancellation deadline for the job. The deadlines they can choose from depend on the client, but in principle:
You can always find the cancellation deadline in the job description. So, make sure to check what the deadline is to avoid any surprises. Also, make sure to cancel a job on time if you have made other plans, as the client can still accept you up until the moment of the job if you have signed up.
? Tip | There is a function that allows your response to be automatically withdrawn. You can read more about this feature here.
The cancellation deadline has passed | If the cancellation deadline has passed, you and the client can no longer cancel the job without consequences. Always arrange for a replacement when you can no longer do the job yourself. Read here how to do that. If you can't find a replacement, you can still cancel the job so that the client knows not to count on you. This will be marked as an uncompleted job and will be visible on your profile.
