You can apply for a VAT-ID in two different ways. Unsure which option to choose? Read about the differences here. Have you received a KvK number or VAT-ID? Don’t forget to add it to your YoungOnes profile and check whether you want to register for the KOR (Small Business Scheme).
1️| Dutch Tax Authorities (Belastingdienst)
You can apply for your VAT-ID via the Dutch Tax Authorities by completing the ‘Opgaaf Startende Onderneming’ (only in Dutch) form and sending it by post to the Belastingdienst. You will receive your VAT-ID within approximately two weeks.
Tip: We’ve noticed that the Tax Authorities sometimes lose application forms. If you haven’t heard back after two weeks, contact the Belastingdienst to check if your form has been received.
Pro Tip: Find this process confusing? You can have us check your form first! Fill in the form using the link below, and we will review your VAT application before you send it.

1. Complete the form thoroughly:

2. Submit the form using the same link. It will automatically be sent to our support team.
3. We will review your form and provide feedback by email within 5 business days.
Is your form incomplete? You will receive an email from us explaining what still needs to be adjusted.
Is everything approved? You can then send the form by post to the Dutch Tax Authorities yourself.
Applying for a VAT-ID via the Tax Authorities is free of charge.
